Praying Desperately

I read an article last week about an alcoholic who was in a rehabilitation center. He wanted so badly to conquer his addiction. He prayed DESPERATELY, because there was NO ONE else that could help him. He fell on the floor and pounded his fist on the floor crying DESPERATELY for help. I'm afraid too many times we pray half-hearted. We need to pray with faith DESPERATELY. God will hear us!

Can You Hear God?

Can you hear God? If you want to hear Him you have to be near Him. You can't be filling your mind with a thousand distractions. You must BE STILL. Sometimes you need be alone with your Bible and ask God to speak to you. Remember also that you can talk to Him about anything that's on your heart!

The Ordinary

Sisters (Friends)

I never get tired of posting about friends. My friends are very dear to me. I had no sisters and no daughters so my friends have always been special I am thankful that God has blessed me with two wonderful daughter-in-laws. My dearest friends are sisters-in-heart. Today I will share a little something that is written by Elizabeth Shaw about sisters but I also think it can be applied to dearest friends.

For when three sisters love each other with such sincere affection, the one does not experience sorrow, pain, or affliction of any kind, but the others' heart wishes to relieve, and vibrates in tenderness. Like a well-organized musical instrument.

Are You Crying

Do you look around you and feel like everyone has a perfect life but you? They all have "good" children, plenty of money, good jobs and good health. We only see the good side. Believe me, there is no perfect life out there. Everyone has their own private pain. When our lives are in a crisis and we cry, it makes a difference if we can focus on the little things that are good. The distance between sadness and gladness isn't very far apart.

Priceless Treasures

a sympathetic nod

These are all things we can do for our fellowman that cost us nothing, but become priceless treasures to the one that receives them. May we give freely!

Beauty

We ladies all wish to be beautiful. I read one time that very few are completely satisfied the way they look. We feel the need to lose a few pounds, get a new dress, or a hundred other things. God would be pleased if we would rather concentrate on keeping our hearts pure and clean. We should practice being kind and good, then we will seem truly beautiful to all those around us.
