Do I Know Jesus?
It is possible to know all about the Bible and doctrine and yet not have a personal relationship with Jesus. We must be passionately devoted to Him. We must have an intimate relationship with Him to understand His voice. We can walk and talk with Him every day all day. He will know us and we will know Him. He is our very best friend. One we share all our secret sorrows and joys with. What a wonderful friend!
Light for Today: He calls...by name. John 10:3
It is easy to say we trust God when life is wonderful and fair, but the real test of faith is found when things go wrong and their are burdens to bear. Then we must "be still", reach out our hand and let God take it. We must listen to His voice and He will direct our path. His path is always the best path.
Light for Today: When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? Psalm 56:3-4
It is in quiet reflection
that we hear His voice.
It is in quiet assurance
that we feel His rest.
It is in quiet trust
that we find His strength.

Sometimes gossip floats from mouth to ears about friends. Are you guilty of being the mouth? Perhaps it is true ~ or at least mostly so ~ but does that give you the privilege to tell the details to another? Are you adding some imagination to the story? Do you find yourself on the phone repeating the "news'? Next time it could be you that has done something foolish. Let's keep our tongues from doing unnecessary flapping!

Do you have a friend that is carrying a burden causing her to have a heavy heart? Are you willing to share that burden? Are you willing to also have a heavy heart? Are you willing to spend time at night in prayer? Ask God to let you have part of the burden. It will ease the load on your friend so her heart will not be so heavy. Gladly help her bear the burden. You will be blessed.
Light for Today: Bear ye one anothers burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2
What you think ~ you are.
We can choose what we fill our minds with. If we choose bad thoughts they will eventually destroy us. If we let our minds go as they will we will soon have thoughts that are like thorns and thistles. Don't worry! Rather give thanks. By thinking and meditating on God's word we fill our minds with truth. We will become more like Jesus. Think about God and keep your mind pure.
