Jesus ~ My Very Best Friend

Jesus is my very very best friend. Every day I take His hand and walk beside Him. When the day brings a sorrow or disappointment, I turn to Jesus, take His arms, look into His face and ask Him to help me. Then He wraps His arms around me and calls me His precious child. Often He carries me. Yes, Jesus is my very very best friend.

What you think ~ you are.

We can choose what we fill our minds with. If we choose bad thoughts they will eventually destroy us. If we let our minds go as they will we will soon have thoughts that are like thorns and thistles. Don't worry! Rather give thanks. By thinking and meditating on God's word we fill our minds with truth. We will become more like Jesus. Think about God and keep your mind pure.

Jesus Calms The Storm

Terrible storms come into our lives from time to time. Our little boat rocks hard in the tempest. We must sit close to Jesus and take hold of a part of His robe. Only then will we have a great calm in our heart. We need not be fearful of the storm because even the wind and waves obey Jesus. We must fight, fight, and fight until God blesses and the storm subsides. We have a Jesus that will take us through a storm and we will shine like gold.

The Good Shepherd

Jesus ~ My Good Shepherd

Each one of us is special. Each one of is different. Each one of us has a name. Jesus calls us by our name. Jesus knows ME. He will not forget me. He knows my heartaches. He knows when I cry and He cries with me. He also knows what gives me joy and makes me smile and He rejoices with me. He understands me. He knows me through and through. He loves me like no other. Why would I not trust Him when He knows me better than anyone else and loves me more than anyone else does? Why would I not listen to His voice?

Jesus is my Shepherd

I WILL listen to HIs voice.

Quiet Time

QUIET TIME

Goal: to feed on the Bible and learn to know Jesus better.

A simple plan is all you need. Set aside a specific time each day. Don't give Jesus your leftover time ~ meet Him when you are the freshest. You might like to have two quiet times, one in the morning and another in the evening before you retire for bed. Plan your quiet time to be at the same place each day. Some place where you are not disturbed easily and you can pray aloud. Relax ~ do not be in a hurry. Read the scripture you have chosen slowly and several times. Then wait on God to speak to you. He will if you are in tune with HIm. This is a very special time with your very best Friend. It's a time to look forward to with joy and anticipation.

Light for today: Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Mark 1:35 NIV

Hold My Hand

Dear Jesus

Disappointments & Prayer

Disappointments & Prayer

Disappointments come to us. We do not invite them but they come anyway. We don't like them ~ they hurt. Some disappointments such as a handicapped child or a disease can last a lifetime. We should not be afraid of disappointments, they come for a reason. They are a necessary part of life. If it wasn't for disappointments we would not appreciate our joys. Disappointments take us to the heart of Jesus. We should pray to Him and tell Him all about them. We do not need to use fancy words, plain and simple will do as long as it is the cry from the very bottom of our heart. He understands and holds each tear in His hand. He wants to help us carry those disappointments and trust Him completely. When we trust Jesus our disappointments can turn into blessings!

On the wings of prayer

God Smiles!

GOD SMILES AT ME!!

God is watching me with love in His eyes. He is very interested in how I react to the many situations I face. He is watching when I feel like saying sharp words but don't. He smiles at me then! He is watching when I feel like doing something I shouldn't and I don't do it. He smiles at me then! Every time I am obedient He smiles at me! Maybe He smiles more for the things I do not do than for the good things I do? Who knows? I want God to smile at me every day all day!
