Is Praying Important To You?

Is praying as important as life and death to you? It was to Daniel. Daniel was a great man of faith and prayer. He prayed three times a day even though it was against the King's decree. Daniel is a good example for us to follow.


Light for Today: But though Daniel knew about it, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs bedroom, with its windows open toward Jerusalem, and prayed three times a day, just as he always had, giving thanks to his God. Daniel 6:10 TLB

Pray With Praise

Are you praying selfishly? Wanting all sorts of things for yourself? That is not what prayers are meant for. God in His wisdom refuses things we wrongly desire. Infuse your prayers with praise and thanksgiving. When you pray with thanksgiving and praise you will find yourself praying less selfishly and more for others. Those kind of prayers God answers.



Light for Today: I will praise God's name in song and glorify Him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30

Believing Prayer

"When ye pray, believe" Mark 11:24

When you have a matter that requires definite prayer, pray till you believe God. Pray until you can thank Him for the answer. If your answer is slow in coming, do not pray for it in such a way that it is evident you are not believing for it. That type of prayer is a hindrance and when you are finished praying your faith will actually be weakened. Pray with faith!

Turn To Prayer

TURN TO PRAYER

When you are feeling as if you are about to unravel inside, turn to prayer. The travel route of prayer is never misdirected or put off schedule ~ nor is it dangerous. Prayer gives peace and helps us avoid danger.

Light for Today: Pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. Philippians 4:6 TLB

Disappointments & Prayer

Disappointments come to us. We do not invite them but they come anyway. We don't like them ~ they hurt. Some disappointments such as a handicapped child or a disease can last a lifetime. We should not be afraid of disappointments, they come for a reason. They are a necessary part of life. If it wasn't for disappointments we would not appreciate our joys. Disappointments take us to the heart of Jesus. We should pray to Him and tell Him all about them. We do not need to use fancy words, plain and simple will do as long as it is the cry from the very bottom of our heart. He understands and holds each tear in His hand. He wants to help us carry those disappointments and trust Him completely. When we trust Jesus our disappointments can turn into blessings!

On the wings of prayer

Disasters

Have You Been Through A Disaster?

Have you lost your job sometime or another? Was your marriage on the brink of failure? Did you or your loved one have cancer? Were you living in constant fear? Were you driven to great times of prayer through your disaster? Have you noticed that once the disaster was forgotten, at least to a great extent, a spiritual sweetness remained to warm your soul? God may not give us an easy journey to the Promised Land, but He will give us a safe one. Many times it is a storm that drives us to discover the priceless love of God.
