We are taking a road trip (leaving early April 30 and coming back May 5 or 6) to Indiana and Kentucky. The most exciting event will be meeting our special and dear friend, Dania. Hope to do a little shopping and who knows what else. Pray for our safety while driving. I will not be posting while we're gone so take care. See you all when we get back with more Quiet LIghts.

Light for Today: Friends are as companions on a journey who ought to aid each other to persevere in the road to a happier life. (Pythacoras)

No Way

No way can I lose weight...

No way can I get out of debt...

No way can I forgive...

No way can I change...

No way

I can't can't can't

I've tried...

I can't

No Way

There is nothing too dificult for God.

Trust God to help you. He will. He wants to. He will make a way.

So you can lose weight...

So you can get out of debt...

So you can forgive...

So you can change...

I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father,
but by me. John 14:6

Cookies & Cream Rice Crispy Treats

Cookies & Cream Rice Crispy Treats

4 tablespoons butter

4 cups miniature marshmallows

8 cups crispy rice cereal

8 oz. package miniature Oreo cookies

1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted

Place butter and marshmallows in large microwavable bowl. Microwave a few minutes until marshmallows puff up nice and large. Remove, stir in cereal and Oreo's. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish that has been buttered or sprayed with cooking spray. With the back of a large spoon that has been sprayed with cooking spray, press and smooth treats. Drizzle melted chocolate over top and let cool. Cut into squares.

Note: These treats are absolutely wonderful! Much better than the original recipe you find on the box of Rice Krispies. And I will tell you a few other hints that are absolutely necessary. You MUST use real butter (that is the honest truth) and you MUST use Rice Krispie brand of cereal (I wouldn't tell you that if I didn't think it was the absolute truth) instead of the store brand. Not sure on the marshmallows as I used the store brand on them because they seemed to be softer. Of course you can do what you want but then I will not guarantee them to be the BEST!! If you would like to see actual pictures of these treats go to this very interesting food blog and see them for yourself.

Little Prayers

Little prayers for little things

fly heavenward on little wings,

and no prayer is too great or small

to ask of God who hears them all.

Be Kind

Be Kind To Everyone

Kindness is made up of little deeds and sacrifices we make in consideration of others. For a Christian, kindness is motivated by a genuine desire to make life pleasant for those we come in contact with. Let us never disgrace our Lord by being rude.

Disappointments & Prayer

Disappointments & Prayer

Disappointments come to us. We do not invite them but they come anyway. We don't like them ~ they hurt. Some disappointments such as a handicapped child or a disease can last a lifetime. We should not be afraid of disappointments, they come for a reason. They are a necessary part of life. If it wasn't for disappointments we would not appreciate our joys. Disappointments take us to the heart of Jesus. We should pray to Him and tell Him all about them. We do not need to use fancy words, plain and simple will do as long as it is the cry from the very bottom of our heart. He understands and holds each tear in His hand. He wants to help us carry those disappointments and trust Him completely. When we trust Jesus our disappointments can turn into blessings!

On the wings of prayer

our burdens take flight ~

our load of care

becomes bearably light.

God Smiles!

God is watching me with love in His eyes. He is very interested in how I react to the many situations I face. He is watching when I feel like saying sharp words but don't. He smiles at me then! He is watching when I feel like doing something I shouldn't and I don't do it. He smiles at me then! Every time I am obedient He smiles at me! Maybe He smiles more for the things I do not do than for the good things I do? Who knows? I want God to smile at me every day all day!

Light for Today: Jesus loves me this I know. Jesus knows me this I love.

We can be great lovers!

Do You Want To Be A Great Lover?

Love is a skill that we can learn. It is something that we can get good at. That also means that we can get better by practicing love. We may think we are a good lover, but God wants us to become even better! He wants us to be a great lover, a master lover! We can become an expert at relationships. We can become a person of extraordinary love. Wouldn't you like for people to say, "She doesn't care who you are or what you look like." "She doesn't care where you've been or what you've done, or where you're from." The scriptures say to love everyone as we do ourselves. And we all think pretty much of ourselves. We should love the red, brown, yellow, black, white, tall, short, thin, obese, old and young people. We should love the people that are mad at the world, poor and rich alike and the person that said something unkind about us that was not even true. We must practice loving. The Bible says, "Practice these things; be committed to them, so that your progress may be evident."

Light for Today: Dear friends, Let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7 NLT

Deeds Of Kindness

Little deeds of kindness,

Little words of love,

Help to make earth happy,

Have You Been Through A Disaster?

Have you lost your job sometime or another? Was your marriage on the brink of failure? Did you or your loved one have cancer? Were you living in constant fear? Were you driven to great times of prayer through your disaster? Have you noticed that once the disaster was forgotten, at least to a great extent, a spiritual sweetness remained to warm your soul? God may not give us an easy journey to the Promised Land, but He will give us a safe one. Many times it is a storm that drives us to discover the priceless love of God.

Light for Today: In Him you have been enriched in every way. 1 Corinthians 1:5

I Love Cupcakes

Everything cupcakes! Have you noticed how popular cupcakes have become? Whole cookbooks are devoted to cupcake recipes. Craft magazines give half of their pages to cupcake crafts. Many card makers are using cupcakes as the object of their card. Soap makers are even making cupcake soaps that look edible, complete with swirled soap frosting and all. Cupcakes are definitely IN!

Off to the kitchen to make cupcakes...

Here's a favorite recipe with a new twist!

Chocolate Oreo Cupcakes

48 bite-size Oreo sandwich cookies

Being Thankful

Being Thankful Has Changed My Life

Thank you God, for saving my soul.

Thank you God, for my dear husband.

Thank you God, for my wonderful family.

Thank you God, for today.

Thank you God, for my health.

Thank you God, for my many friends.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Thank you.

Did you know...Psychologists say gratitude is the healthiest emotion you can have? The more you develop an attitude of appreciation for God, your family, and other people, the healthier you are emotionally.
