Don't Forget To Pray

Christmas is a season of hustle and bustle but one thing we must never forget and that is to pray. Pray to God at dawn and again at the setting sun.

Light for Today: It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, to proclaim your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night. Psalm 92:1-2

Pray In Secret

Find a room in which to pray where no one even knows you are praying. Shut the door and talk to Jesus in secret. Here you can tell Jesus anything and everything. Tell Him all your sorrows and heartaches. But don't forget to thank Him for all your blessings and joys. They are many.

Light for Today: But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:6

Prayer

Do you know how to pray?

Are your prayers being answered?

Pray like you know God will answer you. God is faithful. He is great and He is loving. He can handle all your problems. Confess any sin in your life that you are aware of. Come before God with a pure heart when you pray. Then be very specific in what you ask for. If you pray so general it will be hard to know when your prayer is answered. God wants us to pray and ask for specific answers.

Light for Today: Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and then thank Him for all He has done. Philippians 4:6

Quiet Time

QUIET TIME

Goal: to feed on the Bible and learn to know Jesus better.

A simple plan is all you need. Set aside a specific time each day. Don't give Jesus your leftover time ~ meet Him when you are the freshest. You might like to have two quiet times, one in the morning and another in the evening before you retire for bed. Plan your quiet time to be at the same place each day. Some place where you are not disturbed easily and you can pray aloud. Relax ~ do not be in a hurry. Read the scripture you have chosen slowly and several times. Then wait on God to speak to you. He will if you are in tune with HIm. This is a very special time with your very best Friend. It's a time to look forward to with joy and anticipation.

Light for today: Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Mark 1:35 NIV

Trusting God

Trusting God In The Dark

I'm not afraid of the dark.

Well...

If it's not tooo dark.

What if trials come thick and fast, fears threaten, and the way looks dark indeed? It is much easier to trust when the sun is shining brightly on the path or at least if things aren't too dark. Faith is not exercised much when everything goes our way. God wants us to trust Him in the darkest night.

When tempted thus to fret and fear,

pray hard and trust that God is near.

Light for Today: ...I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord is my strength and song...Isaiah 12:2
