Vacation

WE'RE GOING ON VACATION!!

We are taking a road trip (leaving early April 30 and coming back May 5 or 6) to Indiana and Kentucky. The most exciting event will be meeting our special and dear friend, Dania. Hope to do a little shopping and who knows what else. Pray for our safety while driving. I will not be posting while we're gone so take care. See you all when we get back with more Quiet LIghts.

Cookies & Cream Rice Crispy Treats

Cookies & Cream Rice Crispy Treats

4 tablespoons butter

4 cups miniature marshmallows

8 cups crispy rice cereal

8 oz. package miniature Oreo cookies

1/2 cup chocolate chips, melted

Place butter and marshmallows in large microwavable bowl. Microwave a few minutes until marshmallows puff up nice and large. Remove, stir in cereal and Oreo's. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking dish that has been buttered or sprayed with cooking spray. With the back of a large spoon that has been sprayed with cooking spray, press and smooth treats. Drizzle melted chocolate over top and let cool. Cut into squares.

Note: These treats are absolutely wonderful! Much better than the original recipe you find on the box of Rice Krispies. And I will tell you a few other hints that are absolutely necessary. You MUST use real butter (that is the honest truth) and you MUST use Rice Krispie brand of cereal (I wouldn't tell you that if I didn't think it was the absolute truth) instead of the store brand. Not sure on the marshmallows as I used the store brand on them because they seemed to be softer. Of course you can do what you want but then I will not guarantee them to be the BEST!!
